Ceramic Tile Usage

Their surface does not absorb liquids, which prevents moisture, mold, and bacteria. As an added benefit, ceramic flooring and wall tiles are easily washed and do not wear out during daily cleaning.

Ceramic tiles are also often used in heavy foot traffic areas of a house. Their hardness makes them very resistant to damage and cracks. They can bear heavy loads and do not change shape. As a downside, they don’t have any flexibility. Elderly people have the risk of injuring themselves if they fall on ceramic tiles. Installation

Ceramic tiles are usually cheaper than many natural stone tiles. However, ceramic tile flooring may be costly depending on the quality of the tile and the difficulty of installation.

You can DIY the installation to save some money but don't forget that it’s a labor-intensive process. Most of the time, you have to level the surface with the cement board. Doing this extra layer means extra time, cost, and labor for the project. To finalize the installation process, be sure to fill the gaps between the tiles with grout.

It is always a good idea to order a few boxes more than you need. You can use the extras for future repairs or the regeneration of your tiles. The tiles are often glued down to the board using an adhesive that is cementitious in nature. Don't forget to pay attention to the packaging’s color and size coding.

If you choose to transport the products with your own vehicle, be sure that the boxes are aligned upright and secured on a pallet. Otherwise, there may be breaks.
